Nirvana in Fire Chapter 19: The Faded Past

Yay, so many drama fans! Whoever picked “Eww, never” to watching the drama, we’re gonna need to have a chat… D<

Sorry about the slow updates, and potential future slow updates. An impending doom is nearing fast, so my schedule (and brain) is a bit wonky. I’ll probably have at least a chapter a week, though. Seriously, mad respect for the people who can push out a chapter a day.

Chapter 19: The Faded Past

“What did you say?” Meng Zhi almost jumped up in astonishment. “Prince Qi has a child?!”

“You didn’t know about this either?” Mei Changsu was a bit surprised. “Jingyan really kept a tight lid on the secret, but that’s hardly surprising. If even the slightest bit of news fall into the ears of the Crown Prince or Prince Yu, then Tingsheng’s life is forfeit…” Continue reading “Nirvana in Fire Chapter 19: The Faded Past”

Hey, hey! I hope everyone’s enjoying Nirvana in Fire so far!

I started a new section here called Notes, where I wanna gather all the miscellaneous information on Nirvana in Fire that I find interesting. I’ll be working on those sporadically in-between translating chapters. \o/ (Taking a break from Nirvana in Fire? Take a break with more Nirvana in Fire!) Please feel free to comment any suggestions you have.

I kicked off this section with a blurb on the different novel versions of Nirvana in Fire. Yeah, I should’ve probably researched that before starting the translations, but y’know. Hope this will clear up any confusion about the early chapters!

Nirvana in Fire Chapter 18: Old Friend

Happy (early) Thanksgiving, Canadians! Feiliu the sweetest thing ever <33 The feels, people. The feels. ;~;

Chapter 18: Old Friend

That night, Xiao Jingrui brought home a Royal Physician for Mei Changsu, but the doctor was afraid to interfere once he learned that the patient was taking medicine from Dr. Xun. He left orders to “rest well and avoid emotional stress”, then left immediately. Mei Changsu sent Xiao Jingrui off with the doctor, using the excuse of wanting to sleep early. He didn’t actually go to bed. Rather, he threw on a coat, opened the windows, and sat quietly beneath the windowsill. He stared at the crescent moon hanging in the sky, as if in deep thought. Nirvana in Fire Chapter 17: Choosing a Master

*whispers* SHINee’s back!

In celebration for that (and totally not because I was really close to finishing), chapter 17! Time for things to get fired up! As always, hope you enjoy.  <3

Chapter 17: Choosing a Master

As to Mei Changsu’s sudden promise, the person who ended up being the most astounded was actually Prince Jing. Compared to Xiao Jingrui, he had a better understanding of the child’s status, and he knew exactly how difficult it would be to take him away from the Secluded Courtyard. After all, even the significant efforts of a Prince could not achieve the goal of taking Tingsheng into his manor. This young man was simply a good friend of a Marquess’s son. It would probably be futile even with Xiao Jingrui’s assistance, and this would merely result in another disappointment for Tingsheng. Nirvana in Fire Chapter 16: Prince Jing

The chapters are getting longer…OTL. Each chapter is about 1.5-2x the length of the beginning chapters, but I’m stubborn and want to complete them under the same amount of time. But alas, that’s impossible… So, if these releases slow down, it’s not because I got lazy, but because past-Hai Yan was too diligent. .___.

Chapter 16: Prince Jing

“Here, let’s head in first.” Xiao Jingrui jumped down from the carriage and lifted the child down as well. He instructed the servant who came up to greet them, “Go summon a doctor.”

Mei Changsu followed them, stooping out from the carriage. He carried the heavy bag of books, wondering how the little child managed to lift it. Continue reading “Nirvana in Fire Chapter 16: Prince Jing”

Nirvana in Fire Chapter 15: Tingsheng

The two versions of the novel are the same from this chapter onwards. Yay chapter titles! \o/

Weekly Langya Ranking Results:
Q: If you had to choose a side…
A: the Crown Prince = 72.73%Prince Yu = 27.27%

So, the Crown Prince won by a landslide. Why do you guys like him so much? Is it ’cause there’s a better chance for him to win (being the Crown Prince and all)? To be honest, I think Prince Yu would treat his minions better… New poll is up!

Chapter 15: Tingsheng

Yan Yujin had long since gotten tired of the snide attacks within the tent and had run out alone to watch the tournament. He only returned after seeing the two Princes leave, and saw Mei Changsu coughing nonstop on the chair, with Xiao Jingrui patting his back gently. Yan Yujin asked immediately, “What’s wrong, Su? Are you sick again?” Continue reading “Nirvana in Fire Chapter 15: Tingsheng”

While Mei Changsu and Princess Nihuang were having a tête-à-tête on the Phoenix Building, the young people within the tent were feeling rather uneasy. They surrounded Mei Changsu as soon as he returned.

Nirvana in Fire Chapter 11 (Modified Version)

Modified version? What’s that? Here is a note on the different versions of Nirvana in Fire.

Chapter 11 (Modified Version)

Princess Nihuang walked over gracefully, surrounded by an air of power. She walked straight to Mei Changsu and paid no mind to the many pairs of eyes on her. She smiled and said, “The warm hall is too stuffy, it does not suit someone from the battlefields like me. If Mr. Su does not object, would you join me for a walk along the corridor and see how the tournament below is progressing?” Continue reading “Nirvana in Fire Chapter 11 (Modified Version)”
